Why do us expats buy properties on the Costa del Sol?

Buying a property is always a big decision, and buying a property abroad is an even bigger one. There’s no excuse for being bored in a place where there are so many opportunities for fun, where life is cheap and the people are cheerful. If you’re a golf aficionado, this will certainly be the place for you, as it is called by some the “Costa del Golf”. The quantity, quality and variety of courses will astound you. One of the commonly cited pitfalls of this area of Spain is its infrastructure, which traditionally has let a lot to be desired. While this may have been true in the past, the recent tourism boom has brought top international schools, state of the art health infrastructures and many options that make life easier for an expat living on the Costa del Sol. There are few places that are not clean and well-maintained. Of course, with such a massive influx of yearly tourists, there are areas where you should keep a close eye on your wallet, but this should come as no surprise. The many benefits one obtains from moving to the sunny south certainly outweigh the downsides.
